Constants Used
pi - Archimedes' constant Value Taken As 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288
Variables Used
Volume of Crater - (Measured in Cubic Meter) - Volume of crater is defined as the Volume of crater made by an electric spark during EDM.
Depth of Machined Surface - (Measured in Meter) - Depth of machined surface is the how deep a surface is machined from the un-machined surface.
Smaller Diameter - (Measured in Meter) - The smaller diameter is the smaller of all diameters of a given object.
Larger Diameter - (Measured in Meter) - Larger diameter is the bigger diameter of hole or other things.
STEP 1: Convert Input(s) to Base Unit
Depth of Machined Surface: 52 Meter --> 52 Meter No Conversion Required
Smaller Diameter: 1.2 Meter --> 1.2 Meter No Conversion Required
Larger Diameter: 22 Meter --> 22 Meter No Conversion Required
STEP 2: Evaluate Formula
Substituting Input Values in Formula
Vsd = (pi/12)*Hsd*((d^2)+(Dsd^2)+(Dsd*d)) --> (pi/12)*52*((1.2^2)+(22^2)+(22*1.2))
Evaluating ... ...
Vsd = 6967.96872985806
STEP 3: Convert Result to Output's Unit
6967.96872985806 Cubic Meter --> No Conversion Required
FINAL ANSWER
6967.96872985806 6967.969 Cubic Meter <-- Volume of Crater

Volume of crater made by electric spark Formula

Volume of Crater = (pi/12)*Depth of Machined Surface*((Smaller Diameter^2)+(Larger Diameter^2)+(Larger Diameter*Smaller Diameter))
Vsd = (pi/12)*Hsd*((d^2)+(Dsd^2)+(Dsd*d))

What factors affects surface finish during EDM ?

The amount of material removed and the surface finish produced is dependent upon the current in the spark. The material removed by the spark can be assumed to be a crater. The amount removed therefore will depend upon the crater depth, which is directly proportional to the current. Thus as the material removed increases and at the same time the surface finish also decreases. However, decreasing the current in the spark, but increasing its frequency will improve the surface finish in view of the small crater size, but at the same time the material removal rate can be maintained by increasing the frequency.

How to Calculate Volume of crater made by electric spark?

Volume of crater made by electric spark calculator uses Volume of Crater = (pi/12)*Depth of Machined Surface*((Smaller Diameter^2)+(Larger Diameter^2)+(Larger Diameter*Smaller Diameter)) to calculate the Volume of Crater, The Volume of crater made by electric spark formula is defined as Volume of crater made by electric spark during EDM. Volume of Crater is denoted by Vsd symbol.
